We need to tune into our children and get on the same wavelength
Instead try....
˜ Door openers such as ‘Let’s hear your side of the story…’, or ‘Tell me what really happened…’
˜ Connecting by encouraging a diversity of opinions and ideas
˜ Offering suggestions but not demanding that they are accepted
˜ Listening to their views, which you may not agree with but at least you’re talking!
It is never what you say but what you do that is important to them
