Trevor Overton has forty years of experience as an educator and therapist, personal counsellor and life coach, spiritual guide and mentor, communicator and confidant. In a combination of these roles he has toured throughout the UK, USA and Europe addressing large crowds and small groups, and is equally at home with both. His charisma and energy, coupled with his practical wisdom, insight and unique spirituality, has been widely appreciated and recognised.
Initially trained in a pastoral tradition (BA Hons and Dip in Pastoral Studies), he went on to develop his skills with Diplomas in both Counselling and Life Coaching. He is a licensed NLP Practitioner (Bandler) and has additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Padesky), Thought Field Therapy (Callahan) and Inner Child Reclamation (Bradshaw). He is a Member of BACP. Until recently he was a full time lecturer delivering Personal Development courses at North Devon College. He is now directing his energy to offering these courses to a wider audience, especially throughout the UK.
He continues to offer personal coaching and counselling to individuals and couples through the-i-site, and is currently using web cam facilities for both, with clients as far away as San Francisco! He is also the founder of the South West Parenting Academy and has co-authored the parenting course ‘Building Effective Families’ and the book ‘Living with Your Adolescent’. In his spare time, he is a keen tennis player and skier, outdoors person and traveller, avid reader and active father of three grown up children!
“The way you conducted the course was informative, supportive, friendly, interesting and fun. But it was always managed very professionally as was shown by people’s willingness to contribute and share some quite big issues with the group. I always felt I was being treated as an important person with a right to feel the issues I did.”
