Building Effective Families offers one of the most refreshing and effective approaches to parenting available in the sector today, based on mutual respect and the cultivation of thriving long-term family relationships. Our purpose is to help three groups:
Concerned parents, often feeling overwhelmed or perplexed by the behaviour of their children, who recognise the value of self development and welcome the opportunity to take a fresh look at their parenting experience to fine tune their parenting skills,
Agencies, working with children and their parents, who need to train staff to offer parenting support to NOS levels and are looking for resources to do their job effectively.
Employers, recognizing that stress-free parents are more productive employees, who want to offer parent workshops and support as part of their CPD programme.
We achieve these objectives by offering parents: training, personal parent coaching (face to face, telephone, or now with Internet parent coaching), a growing range of self help books, and tips through this web site with Parenting Today, BEF in Action, and our free newsletter. For Agencies and Organisations we provide staff training, bespoke courses for parent groups, individual parent coaching, and facilitating literature.
BEF, though only established in 2005, draws on over forty years experience working with children and parents in social and educational settings. Based in idyllic North Devon, it operates throughout the UK and now, through the Internet, the world.
